Vancouver — With results in hand from exploration and infill drilling,
The QDD zone is the largest of three known deposits at the advanced gold property, situated in San Juan province. QDD hosts a measured and indicated resource of 37.1 million tonnes grading 1.04 grams gold per tonne, plus an inferred resource of 11.3 million tonnes at 1.2 grams gold. The estimates are based on a cutoff grade of 0.5 gram gold.
Five holes tested the western extension of the main QDD zone, while two sought to bring the inferred resource into the measured and indicated category.
Two holes showed that the QDD zone remains open to the west: hole 137 returned 1.9 grams gold per tonne over 40.29 metres, including 1.67 grams over 7.82 metres, while hole 141 cut 0.76 gram gold over 61.45 metres, including 1.32 grams over 19.7 metres. The distance between the two mineralized intercepts is about 120 metres.
The area drilled previously had been considered waste. Assays are awaited from several other holes sunk west of the main QDD deposit.
Three geotechnical holes were also drilled, some distance from the main QDD zone. These returned 169.5 metres grading 0.77 gram gold, 12 metres of 1.07 grams, and 123.3 metres of 0.68 gram.
Two smaller deposits also occur on the Gualcamayo property: the nearby Amelia Ines deposit hosts a measured and indicated resource of 2.1 million tonnes grading 2.82 grams gold per tonne, while the adjacent Magdalena deposit has 2.9 million tonnes at 1.88 grams gold.
