Vancouver — Spurred by the discovery of three gem-quality diamonds from preliminary auger drilling,
The Toronto-based junior holds an 85% interest in a Brazilian subsidiary, which in turn owns all of the 120-sq.-km project. The land package is near the Verrissimo River, which has produced diamonds for more than a century.
The diamond discovery was made in late May of this year while the company was drilling a newly defined target on the property. Three white gems totalling 2.98 carats were found in 192 kilos of ecologite taken from weathered bedrock.
The geophysical program is expected to help the company define the source target where the diamonds originated and other potential targets on the property.
The company will expand the size and scope of work at the Victory project to evaluate the newly discovered target and the overall potential of the project.
The company plans further auger drilling to delineate the size of the diamond-bearing eclogite. A 3.5-tonne-per-hour mini-processing plant will be brought to the site to accelerate the program.
