Stephen Hodgson, vice president of engineering with Northern Dynasty Mines, will discuss the development of his company’s Pebble gold- copper-molybdenum porphyry deposit in Alaska at the next luncheon meeting of the Vancouver branch of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum. The luncheon is slated for 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 24 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Vancouver.
Hodgson has 30 years’ experience in mining, including 15 years with operations owned by Cominco. In 1991, he transferred to Cominco Engineering and eventually joined engineering firm AMEC.
Hodgon is no stranger to Alaska, having worked there as manager of mining at the Red Dog zinc mine from 1986 through 1991. He helped see the project through construction and its first 18 months of operation.
Since Acquiring Pebble in 2001, Northern Dynasty has launched a substantial exploration program to expand and upgrade known resources.
Hodgson will provide an update on the project. Tickets are $35 for members, $50 for non-members.
