Vancouver — Channel sampling by Plexmar Resources (PLE-V, PLLGF-O) at its Bolsa del Diablo in northern Peru has returned bonanza-grade gold values from a newly discovered vein system.
Up to 635 grams gold per tonne plus 24.8 grams silver and 0.11% copper were returned from channel sample SAM-051VN. Samples were taken across widths of 0.5 to 1 metre and at an average depth of 1 metre.
The newly discovered vein systems occur near the contact of a series of highly altered volcanic and intrusive units in the northwestern portion of the Angolos concession.
“These are the best values encountered so far on the Bolsa del Diablo project and are obviously first-rate drill targets,” said Plexmar president Guy Bedard. “They confirm the high potential to find a large disseminated gold orebody with high-grade gold veins.”
The area has undergone episodes of silica and clay hydrothermal alteration. The volcanic host units have developed intense stockwork structures and shows pervasive argillic alteration. Gold mineralization occurs as fracture fillings and as disseminations.
Plexmar has noted that numerous artisanal miners are active on sections of its 220-sq.-km project area, exploiting high-grade gold in the quartz veins.
