Verena Minerals (VML-V) has intersected gold mineralization in a new drill hole at the Grota Seca East zone on its Volta Grande property in Para state, Brazil.
The new results are on a zone 400 metres east of the Grota Seca West zone, where drill results released in November showed extensions of known mineralization.
Hole VVD-143, an infill hole between two earlier drill holes, intersected multiple zones of gold mineralization in a diorite intrusion near its contact with greenstones. Most of the zones averaged 1 to 2 grams gold per tonne.
Among the better intersections were a 50.5-metre length grading 1.2 grams per tonne, a 14-metre length grading 2.07 grams, and a 12-metre length grading 2.49 grams.
Seven other holes on the East zone cut gold mineralization, mostly wide intersections with gold grades between 0.5 and 1 gram per tonne. One of them, VVD-146, intersected two zones of 1 metre each, at average grades of 9.64 and 5.63 grams gold per tonne.
