OMA to hold seminar on new WSIB rules

The Ontario Mining Association (OMA) is holding a seminar to introduce employees and employers alike to changes in Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) policies.

The Ontario mining industry pays nearly $70 million annually in WSIB premiums.

The seminar will be held at the Holiday Inn and Conference centre in Sudbury on April 15.

Entitled “The New Rules,” the seminar will feature a keynote address from WSIB chair Steve Mahoney, and advice from leading experts and practitioners in the fields of workplace safety and insurance law.

Presenters will discuss updated information on return to work policies, employer accreditation programs, appeals, the role of physicians, insurance law and the impact on employers.

The fee is $150, plus GST, and registration can be done through the OMA website at www.oma.on.ca.
