Moly Mines awards construction contract to WorleyParsons

Moly Mines (MOL-T) has awarded the contract for the construction of its Spinifex Ridge molybdenum project to WorleyParsons.

The contract, valued at more than $94.5 million, will see the Australian- based construction management and engineering consultancy firm constructing the project as well as the treatment plant and related infrastructure.

The Spinifex Ridge project, located 50 km northeast of Marble Bar in Western Australia, expects to produce 20 million tonnes of ore per annum from measured and indicated resources totalling 658.4 million tonnes grading 0.045% molybdenum, 0.08% copper and 1.27 grams silver per tonne. A further 390 million tonnes at somewhat lower grades lie in the inferred category.

WorleyParsons has been involved with the project since Moly Mines’ initial pre-feasibility study in 2005.
