Minerals industry adviser Behre Dolbear Group has announced plans to acquire and join environmental solutions provider Digby Wells & Associates with its pre-existing firm Behre Dolbear Environmental Services.
The acquisition of Digby Wells & Associates, based out of Johannesburg, South Africa, will expand Behre Dolbear’s current stable of scientists, social scientists and engineers.
“Digby Wells & Associates is well recognized throughout Africa as leading the environmental management industry,” said Barney Guarnera, president and chairman of Behre Dolbear Group in a press release.
“This new combination will not only strengthen the global positions of the two companies within the minerals industry, but benefit our clients by making available to them more options from a single service provider.”
The companies aim to combine resources and build a fully integrated service model involving both parties.
Among other services, the joined entity will focus on preparing and implementing environmental management plans, environmental and social impact assessments, social baseline studies, socioeconomic surveys, social and labour plans, resettlement plans, public consultation and disclosure processes, due diligence investigations and environmental audits.
