Finning Snaps Up Mining Contract With Imperial Oil

One of the world’s largest Caterpillar equipment dealers, Finning International (FTT-T, FINGF-O), has just secured a 10-year agreement with Imperial Oil (IMO-T, IMO-X) for equipment, parts, specialized maintenance labour and training.

The equipment will supply the equipment for Imperial Oil’s Kearl oilsands project, 70-km northeast of Fort McMurray, Alta.

The project’s estimated total recoverable bitumen is 4.6 billion barrels, according to the company.

Finning International, established in 1933, operates in Western Canada, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Uruguay and the United Kingdom.

Imperial Oil hopes to operate Kearl from 2012 to 2060.
