Software services provider Micromine has opened a new regional office in Santiago, Chile, to increase the company’s presence in South America.
Micromine’s existing partnership with Brazil-based BNA Consultoria e Sistemas since June 2009 has already developed strong relationships with local mining and exploration companies, universities and relevant governments, Micromine says.
“There is a real need in South America for intuitive and easy- to-use mining software solutions. Micromine’s success in Brazil is testimony to this need,” said Beck Nader, BNA’s managing director.
Micromine’s Chile operation will be headed up by Hans Schoch, who has relocated from his previous posting at company headquarters in Perth, Australia.
The company says local employees who understand the Chilean culture and the mining industry have been recruited to provide clients with the native knowledge and expertise needed to ensure good client relationships and effective local support and training.
