Yukon Chamber mining school

The British Columbia and Yukon Chamber of Mines will hold its 69th annual prospecting and mining school in Vancouver again this year. Classes begin Tuesday, Sept 15, and run Tuesday and Thursday evenings until Dec 3 from 7.00 to 9.30 pm. The course provides an introduction to geology and mineral deposits with practical training in the identification of rocks and minerals, and in basic prospecting techniques. Field methods, staking procedures, mining law and other practical subjects will be covered.

Cost of the course is $95 which includes a field trip to the old Britannia mine this October, a set of sample rocks and minerals, and course notes.
