The Northern Miner is proud to be co-presenter of the Edmonton premiere commercial screening of the documentary film KONELINE: Our Land Beautiful on Sept. 9-10, 2017.

This visually stunning film was painstakingly shot by Vancouver filmmaker Nettie Wild over four years in remote northwestern British Columbia. It features extensive scenes with Imperial Metals, Pretium Resources, Hy-Tech Drilling, the Northwest Transmission Line crew and various members of the local Tahltan First Nation.
In conjunction with the event, we are giving away two pairs of tickets to either of two screenings on Saturday, Sept. 9, at 7:00 PM and Sunday, Sept. 10, at 2:00 PM at the Garneau Theatre at 8712 109 ST NW in Edmonton, Alberta.
The contest is open to all Northern Miner readers and will be decided by random draw at noon Eastern Time on Sept. 1, 2017. To enter, send an email with the heading “Koneline tickets” and your name and preferred screening time to tnm@northernminer.com.

Since our co-presenting of the film in its Toronto and Vancouver commercial premieres, Koneline has gone on to win several more prestigious awards, which now include: UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites Award 2017; Best Film on Mountain Environment and Natural History at the Banff Film Festival 2016; Telefilm Canada’s showcasing of Koneline as one of the “Top 5 Films of 2016”; Best Canadian Documentary at Hot Docs 2016; and Best Documentary Cinematographer from the Canadian Society of Cinematographers in 2016.
Koneline will open soon in theatres across Mexico and in several U.S. states including Colorado, Utah and Nevada.
In 2018, Koneline is slated to be translated into five languages for digital download worldwide, and will be featured at the Resources for Future Generations conference in Vancouver in June.
