Top Ten Canadian operators in the South American Cordillera

The Northern Miner and sister company MiningIntelligence have put together a list of the top ten Canadian operators in the countries that make up the South American Cordillera. Their order or ranking is based on market capitalization as of May 27.

The list encompasses those companies with open-pit or underground mines in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador and Peru.

Commodities include copper, gold, silver, molybdenum, lead, and zinc.

Barrick Gold (TSX: ABX; NYSE: GOLD), with a market capitalization of US$43 billion, is the largest operator, and McEwen Mining (TSX: MUX; NYSE: MUX), with a market cap of US$675 million, is the smallest.
