Metal Energy (TSXV: MERG; US-OTC: MEEEF) plans to start drilling on its Source Rock lithium brine project in northwest Ontario in December, CEO James Sykes says. The circa 2,000-sq.-km site could rival the Atacama salt flats in Chile, he said.
The Toronto-based explorer also wants to resurrect the past-producing Manibridge mine in the Thompson nickel belt of northern Manitoba. The former Falconbridge operation produced 1.3 million tonnes at 2.55% nickel and 0.27% copper from 1971 to 1977.
Watch Sykes speak this month with Alisha Hiyate, Editor-in-Chief of The Northern Miner, at its Canadian Mining Symposium in London.
