Do you like watching the Thunderbirds flyover for the Air force Academy’s Graduation? Have trouble finding a place to watch them that has a great view and is safe and comfortable? Look no more! The Western Museum of Mining is honored to be the Academy’s neighbor…and lucky too! Here is why: The Mining Museum is the perfect place to watch the amazing aerial acrobatics of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds as they fly for the Air Force Academy’s graduation. Bring and enjoy a picnic lunch by our spring fed ponds and flowering meadow as you experience the mighty Thunderbirds soar over you! The Thunderbird’s demonstration will take place between 9:30am and 12:30pm. Come early, set up your family picnic, and enjoy the show! Admission to the grounds only for this event will be $5.00 per vehicle. Regular museum admission applies for those interested in seeing the museum afterwards.
