Project Management for Mining is a 3-day practical course focused on the successful delivery of mine development projects. Primary emphasis is placed on major greenfield mine development, but the information presented is fully applicable to brownfield project undertakings.
The course teaches project management best practices, and how they are woven together from initial mineral resource identification on through the project stages of opportunity, viability, planning, execution, and completion, to delivery of a sustainable operating property. The course focuses on the key steps in each stage that must be properly executed to achieve project success.
Participants will be assigned to work on real issues faced by actual project managers in the field. Interactive case study discussions leading to valid solutions and practical usable tools are fundamental elements of the course.
