Rockcliff Metals (CSE: RCLF; US-OTC: RKCLF) has released high-grade copper and zinc assays from the first phase of its drill program at the Copperman property in Manitoba, about 120 km from the junior explorer’s Bucko mill in the Snow Lake mining camp.
Rockcliff CEO Don Christie described the results as “extremely successful” and said, in a press release, that the drills had encountered disseminated, semi-massive and massive chalcopyrite and sphalerite sulphides of up to 10 metres thick.
Highlights included 10 metres grading 4.39% copper, 4.05% zinc, 0.5 gram gold per tonne and 14.86 grams silver per tonne (6.58% copper-equivalent) starting from 86 metres in drill hole RCU21-010 and 6 metres grading 3.31% copper, 3.36% zinc, 0.23 gram gold per tonne and 11.22 grams silver per tonne (4.91% copper-equivalent) starting from 59 metres in drill hole RCU21-009.
“The Copperman property remains a top exploration drill priority for Rockcliff that is strategically located near existing infrastructure including an operational mill and tailings facility,” Christie said.
Last month, the company announced results of four drill holes from phase 1, the most promising of which returned 6 metres grading 2.82% copper, 3.09% zinc, 0.27 gram gold per tonne and 10.95 silver per tonne (4.35% copper-equivalent).
The Copperman deposit was discovered in 1927 after surface trenching yielded grades of up to 2.73% copper and 4.24% zinc across 3.1 metres. The highest grade historic drill intercept in 1966 graded 8.09% copper and 7.29% zinc over 7 metres.
At presstime in Toronto, Rockcliff was trading at 6.5¢ per share within a 52-week trading range of 4.5¢ and 9.5¢.
