50 YEARS AGO –APRIL, 1937– THREAT OF OUT- BREAK MINIMIZED BY

The possibility of strikes at northern Ontario mines was definitely minimized by leading mine managers who were interviewed this week by The Northern Miner in the course of a survey of the situation affecting the larger mines.

Should strikes materialize from the work of agitators bent on organizing the mines for the cio, the policy of the gold mines will be to shut down their plants and remain closed until the men are ready to return to their jobs. Reprinted from The Northern Miner, April, 1937.
