50 Years Ago — September, 1937 — SPLIT LAKE SHAFT

Split Lake Gold Mines has encountered high grade ore in the shaft being sunk on the Bigstone Bay property. Values increased suddenly at a depth of 20 ft and heavy showings of native gold have been disclosed in the last two rounds. The shaft is being sunk on the extreme southwest end of the exposure, just before it enters swamp-covered ground. Reprinted from The Northern Miner, September, 1937
