The most consistent criticism we received related to delivery of the paper. “Improve your delivery time,” said one reader emphatically, a message echoed by 15% of those who took the time to write any comment at all.
While there is very little we can do about shortcomings in postal service both here and in the United States, we have taken what steps we can to get The Northern Miner to our readers as promptly as possible.
In late 1985, for example, we delayed our press deadlines by 24 hours in order to make the most of non-prime time postal delivery times.
Also, Canadian subscriber copies are flown directly to major cities across Canada. In an effort to improve U.S. delivery, we have recently started depositing U.S. subscriber copies directly into the U.S. postal system.
While these changes have improved our delivery rate substantially, we are aware that there are many instances where readers do not get their copies as quickly as they should. We will continue to seek ways to improve delivery service.
