Active trading year for CDN

The Canadian Dealing Network (CDN) more than doubled its trading volume in 1993.

The over-the-counter exchange traded more than a billion shares, up from 404.5 million in 1992. Also on the rise was the number of reported transactions, up 81% to 260,000.

More than 400 stocks are quoted on Toronto-based CDN by securities dealers acting as market-makers.

Created in 1991, CDN grew out of the former Canadian Over-the-counter Automated Trading System, which operated under the auspices of the Ontario Securities Commission.
