Exploration by Oromonde Mining (OMP-V) has resulted in the discovery of near-surface gold mineralization at the Bukoli and Mgusu gold projects in the Lake Victoria goldfields district of Tanzania.
Rotary air-blast drilling at Bukoli returned 8 metres grading 8.75 grams gold per tonne starting at a depth of 3 metres and 21 metres of 2.04 grams starting at 4 metres below surface. Drilling at Mgusu returned 5 metres of 1.08 grams from one target area.
Oromonde’s work at Bukoli is focused on a 3.3-by-1-km gold-in-soil anomaly defined in 1998. The junior holds the right to earn a 85% interest in Bukoli, which comprises historical mining workings.
Oromonde is earning a half-interest in Mgusu from Pangea Goldfields (PGD-T), which previously identified a small gold deposit on the property. The next drill program will focus on the Chiguna shear in the western part of the licence area. In March, Oromonde plans to begin a 4-stage drilling program covering Bukoli and Mgusu, as well as other targets on the company’s Ikoka, Karumwa and Ikina licences in the Lake Victoria goldfields.
