The African Junior Mining Congress, an event designed for mineral sector managers looking to expand and develop projects in Africa, is slated for July 4-6, 2006, at the Gallagher Estate, Johannesburg, South Africa.
Among the speakers slated to give presentations are Mike Sperinck, managing director of Australian-based Luiri Gold; Jan Nelson, CEO of Pan African Resources in South Africa; and Richar Linnell, chairman of South Africa’s New Africa Mining Fund.
The keynote address, titled Reaping the rewards by being first: identifying future prospects in African mining, will be delivered by Willem Smuts, managing editor of South Africa’s African Mining and Mining Mirror.
After Smuts, Vincent Maphai, chairman of BHP Billiton’s South African operations will examine the role of junior mining companies, as either miners or explorers. And Mark Bristow, CEO of Rangold Resources, will look at the advantages of partnerships between junior and senior mining companies.
