Alberta exchange activity at record levels in 1993

The Alberta Stock Exchange (ASE) set records in 1993 in trading volume, trading value and total financing.

Total trading volume exceeded 2.2 billion shares, up 157% from 1992. Total trading value increased 118% to more than $2.1 billion. Financings by exclusive ASE-listed companies jumped to $462 million compared with $368 million in 1992.

New listings totaled 118, more than three times the increase in 1992. Total revenue exceeded $6 million compared with $3.7 million in 1992, and the operating surplus was about $2.5 million compared with $586,000 for the previous year.
