Alberta Stock Exchange (January 13, 1992)

After announcing a lawsuit against VSE-listed Cal Graphite, Takla Star Resources jumped 9 cents to 39 cents during the week ended Jan. 7.

Takla is claiming ownership of a graphite mine near Huntsville, Ont., and of Cal Graphite shares held by several insiders. In its statement of claim, Takla seeks damages valued at $400 million.

Roycefield Resources jumped to the top of most active list during the first week of 1992, finally closing unchanged at $1.50 on Jan

A spokesman from the company said the activity is probably related to the completion of a horizontal oil well at Roycefield’s Lucky Hill project in Saskatchewan. Roycefield also holds a number of gold and base metal properties in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, one of which is under option by Teck.

Future Avenir, a subsidiary of Champion Gold Resources, has acquired a 50% co-ownership interest in three office/warehouse buildings in Houston, Tex. Future has also agreed to purchase a 62-unit apartment building in the Texas metropolis.

Champion Gold was 2 cents ask, 10 cents bid for the week.

Exploration will continue on the Fort Knox property adjacent to Goldhunter Explorations’ claims near Shining Tree, Ont., after the TSE-listed company raised $272,000 on warrants exercised recently.

Goldhunter shed a penny to close at 29 cents on modest volume.
