Active Kingswood Explorations 1985 has started up a drilling program on its 60-claim gold property at Eastmain, Que., where surface work indicated a number of anomalies.
The company, whose stock slipped by 3 cents to 22 cents on more than 1.4 million shares during the week ended Feb. 4, also announced a successful takeover bid for Fort Rupert Resources, which owns a 50% interest in the Lac Marcaut gold property north of Matagami, Que.
Eden Roc Mineral, which reported completion of a successful test run of its leaching and gold recovery system at its property in the Ivory Coast, West Africa, is set to pour its first dore bar around the end of February. Trading 28,800 shares, Eden Roc closed unchanged at $1.75.
Recently gaining a listing on The Toronto Stock Exchange, Eden Roc continues to explore its land position in the West African nation.
A 78% interest in the Summit gold-silver joint venture in New Mexico has been earned by Biron Bay Resources through the expenditure of US$3 million, the company reported. (Biron’s project partner is NovaGold Resources.) Trading 88,900 shares, Biron gained 13 cents to $1.75.
Biron, operator of the project, also said it is reviewing the assaying technique being used at Summit. Core split is usually fire-assayed; however, sample values increased when re-assayed using a leach-cyanidation method, the company said.
