Trading was back to about normal this week in Calgary, with 5,549,500 shares traded, almost double the previous week’s slow market.
The most active issue was Sweany Gold Corp., trading close to 760,000 shares at 30 cents . Sweany will be operator on an exploration program on 140 claims in the Beardmore area of Ontario, in a deal involving Sweany-associated Nodaden Resources, and Gunner Gold Inc., wherein Gunner can earn a 75% interest by spending $4.5 million over the next four years.
American Oakwood Energy, which was last week’s most-active trader (350,000 shares at 23 cents ), was off to 20 cents on light volume. The company is drilling a gold property in B.C.’s Toodoggone area, currently one of the hottest of the gold areas in that province.
New-listed Goldhunter Explorations, (started trading Sept 4) was trading this week in the 55 cents range. The company is looking for additional financing for a drill program on its Federal-Kirkland gold property near Kirkland Lake, Ont.
Golden Briar was active, trading 280,500 shares, closing at 55 cents for a 15 cents gain on the week. Among other ventures, Golden Briar has the right to earn a 51% interest in claims in the Casa Berardi area of northern Quebec.
