Alcoa exec dies in car crash

Pittsburgh-based Alcoa (AA-N) executive Michael Coleman was killed recently when his Porsche spun out of control and struck another vehicle just outside Knoxville, Tenn.

Coleman headed the rigid packaging division that supplies sheet aluminum for the beverage and food can business.

“He was a genuine man who cared deeply about his family, his friends and his community. We will miss his spirit, his dedication, his candor and frankness, and his friendship,” recalls Alcoa Chairman Alain Belda.

Coleman is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, and his children Megan and Michael.

In lieu of flowers, Coleman’s family has asked that donations be made to the East Tennessee Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The address is 6701 Baum Drive, Knoxville, Tenn., 37919.
