AMEC Expands Its Services In Eastern Canada

U. K.-based engineering and project management company AMEC (AMEC-L) has acquired Journeaux, Bdard & Associates (JBA), a Quebec-based geotechnical and environmental consultancy.

The deal, valued at $3.7 million, will add the 20-person business to AMEC’s growing global stable.

“JBA has built long-term, trusted relationships with key clients, most of them in the mining sector,” said Luciano Piciacchia, vice-president of AMEC’s earth and environmental operations in Quebec, in a statement.

As part of the acquisition, JBA will have access to AMEC’s world-class water resources and environmental permitting, monitoring and remediation services.

JBA was founded in Montreal in 1987.
