Anglo hits graphite horizon on hole two

Drilling its second hole at the MWF property near Timmins, Ont., Anglo Canadian Mining (TSE) has intersected what it believes to be an important mineralized zone. Occurring at the contact between sediments and altered volcanics, the zone is marked by a graphitic horizon and pervasive pyrite mineralization. Anglo believes this graphitic zone accounted for some of the production from Falconbridge Gold’s Owl Creek mine next door to the MWF property, and is expecting it to produce good gold values.

Anglo is spending $250,000 to earn a 50% interest in the MWF property. Anglo claims MWF lies between the Owl Creek and Hoyle Pond gold mines, but according to official claim maps, the property is east of both.
