Antares developing Zimbabwe gold play

Antares Mining and Exploration (TSE) has gained access to the Long John Eight orebody at the Lady Lina gold property in Zimbabwe.

Underground development is planned to evaluate and upgrade, to reserve status, the indicated resource of 86,000 tonnes grading 0.21 oz. gold per tonne. The known resource is between the 500- and 1,000-ft. levels. Long John Eight is the second zone to be reached on the property; the first being the Lady Lina zone.

Three other zones identified from surface exploration — Bullion, Interloper and Yellow Aster — will also be developed in 1994. These have a total indicated resource of 73,600 tonnes grading 0.20 oz. to the 500-ft. level. The property is within the Gwanda Greenstone belt.
