Results from an 18-hole program at its gold project in Zimbabwe have given Antares Mining and Exploration (TSE) cause for optimism.
The drilling was carried out on the Interloper zone at the Lady Lina property.
Assays for 12 holes, which range between 295 and 490 ft. below surface, run as high as 0.31 oz. gold per ton over 3.2 ft. Four other assays range between 0.13 and 0.24 oz. over 4.3-8.5 ft.
Drilling indicates that the strike length of the zone (at 490 ft. below surface) is 360 ft. More drilling will be carried out, between 490 and 1,000 ft., and underground development at the central shaft is expected to intersect the zone before year-end.
Drilling has also been completed on two of the other five zones. Six surface holes were drilled to test a zone of intense carbonate alteration known as the Ali zone, about 1 mile south of the central shaft. The best result obtained was 0.21 oz. over a true width of 7.8 ft. Additional drilling will begin shortly in an effort to test the zone between 295 and 490 ft. Meanwhile, drilling has already begun at the Tortoise zone, 2.5 miles south of the central shaft. This structure has a strike length (inferred from old workings) of more than 2,000 ft.
