Arizona produces $3-billion worth of minerals

Recently released by the Department of Mines and Mineral Resources, Directory of Active Mines in Arizona — 1991 lists 55 companies, 94 mines and 123 sand-gravel operations. Arizona, the leading nonfuel mining state, produced more than $3-billion worth of minerals last year. Since 1910, Arizona has led the U.S. in copper production. It also produces a large amount of gemstones, molybdenum, silver, uranium and gold. The directory lists mines by operating company name,corporate address and phone numbers, key personnel, mine, mill or smelter location and a descriptio of th operation Director o Active Mine i Arizon — 1991.
