Ateba Resources has commenced a program of overburden drilling on a 52-claim property straddling the Munro and McCool twp. boundary, 100 km east of Timmins. This ground is held under option from Arkroy Resources, a private company that will soon be going public.
This drilling will test for the bedrock potential of gold mineralization over two strong anomalies. lt will likely be followed with a minimum of 5,000 ft of core drilling, Dan Gillis, managing director of A.C.A. Howe International, the firm that is managing the project, tells The Northern Miner. The findings will be scrutinized closely for any possible copper and nickel mineralization, with which platinum could also be present.
Interest in this ground developed when gold was discovered in what is known as the Munro esker three km to the south. The Ontario Geological Survey postulated that this gold was carried about three km which would put it in the vicinity of the Arkroy claims.
