Vancouver – An independent resource audit has confirmed Minefinders’ (MFL-T) estimates for the Dolores project in Mexico’s Chihuahua state.
Engineering firm of Pincock, Allen, & Holt (PAH) completed the study, which verified a measured indicated and inferred resource of 9.8 million tonnes grading 3.5 grams gold and 189.5 grams silver using a 3 gram gold per tonne cut off. Dropping to a 2 gram gold cut off, the resource comes in at 18.8 million tonnes grading 2.4 grams gold and 139.3 grams silver and at a 1 gram cut off the resource climbs to 40.8 million tonnes averaging 1.56 grams gold and 89.8 grams silver.
Minefinders’ is currently in the midst of an aggressive drilling program aimed at moving some of the existing mineral resource into the measured and indicated categories, as well as increasing the size of the total resource. Some 70 holes totalling 25,000-30,000 metres are planned for this year’s program using four rigs. So far, 20 holes, comprising approximately 8,000 meters, have been completed and the results are being assayed
The new drill results will be added to the data base resulting in an updated resource estimate, followed by a new mine plan and economic model.
