A 2-hole, deep-drill program is under way on Beaufield Consolidated Resources’ (VSE) Mainstreet copper-zinc property in Louvicourt Twp., Que., project operator Aur Resources (TSE) reports.
The aim of the current program is to test a mineralized horizon where, earlier this year, drilling encountered encouraging copper mineralization in strongly altered felsic volcanic rocks.
The two holes will be drilled at least 200 metres below holes 313-06 and 313-07, which yielded 3.76% copper over 1 metre and 1.07% copper over 0.6 metres, respectively. Aur believes that these previous intersections may represent a feeder zone to a volcanogenic massive sulphide system. Aur can earn a 60% interest in the 7-claim property by spending $400,000 on exploration work by Aug. 24. Aur has indicated that sufficient expenditures will be incurred under the current program, allowing them to vest their interest.
Beaufield has granted Aur a 1-month extension to complete the minimum expenditure requirement so that a followup third hole can be drilled in early September.
