Aurora drilling cuts significant gold

Drilling in the Aleck Hill area of Guyana Goldfields‘ (GUY-T) Aurora gold property has intersected wide zones of significant gold, 175 km west of Georgetown, Guyana.

Drilling is highlighted by five holes in particular, which cut:

  • 50 metres grading 6.9 grams gold;
  • 30.5 metres grading 5.2 grams gold;
  • 42 metres grading 4.4 grams gold;
  • 26.5 metres grading 4.9 grams gold and;
  • in hole twelve, 13.5 metres grading 7.3 grams gold per tonne. Hole 12 also cut a 6-metre interval grading 9 grams gold per tonne.

In all of the aforementioned intersections, with the exception of the 30.5-metre intercept, gold has been cut to 25 grams gold per tonne.

Two other holes hit 4.5-metre intervals grading 5.8 grams gold and 10.5 grams gold per tonne, respectively.

Five holes cut intervals from 1.5-18 metres wide grading 1.03-2.4 grams gold per tonne.

Thirteen holes tested the zone; two failed to reach their targeted depth.

Two drills continue to test the 656-sq.-km Aurora property in the Aleck Hill area and at Rory’s Knoll (800 metres to the east).

The latest drilling has cut a visible-gold-bearing zone at Rory’s Knoll, which graded 68 grams gold per tonne over 15.7 metres. When the gold grade is cut to 25 grams gold, the average grade becomes 3.1 grams gold over 105.7 metres.

Another hole cut 188 metres grading 1.5 grams gold at a vertical depth of 165 metres.

This summer a larger drill rig will test the Rory’s Knoll area at greater depth.
