Significant assays have been reported from another three holes at Balcor Resources’ Lasthope property southeast of Lynn Lake, Man. The holes included 7.5 ft of 0.83 oz gold per ton, 10.8 ft averaging 0.13 oz, and 9.2 ft grading 0.116 oz. Noting these results are down plunge of the south oreshoot, the company predicts that deeper drilling will add substantially to reserves.
An intensely altered zone up to 16 ft wide occurs within the south shoot and good gold values have been found in altered footwall rocks where quartz stringer systems have developed.
A phase-three program costing approximately $800,000 is currently under way. The work will include deep diamond drilling of the Madole vein and about 15,000 ft is planned in total. Induced polarization indicates this mineralized structure is open to depth and extends for at least 700-1,000 ft, notes the company.
