VANCOUVER — Bard Ventures (CBS-V, BVTLF-O) is pulling long molybdenum intercepts out of the ground at its Lone Pine property near Houston, in west-central British Columbia.

Two drill holes that both extended the western boundary of the Alaskite zone at Lone Pine returned long, well-mineralized intercepts. Hole 33 returned 455 metres grading 0.1% molybdenum, starting 347 metres down-hole and including a 22-metre intercept of 0.18% molybdenum, as well as a 96-metre segment grading 0.14% moly. The hole was collared 80 metres southwest of the zone’s westernmost hole to date, hole 25, which previously returned a whopping 731 metres grading 0.1% molybdenum.

Hole 34, collared 100 metres northwest of hole 33, cut 500 metres grading 0.08% molybdenum from 329 metres down-hole, including 168 metres of 0.12% moly and a separate interval averaging 0.15% molybdenum over 90 metres. The drill results lifted Bard 2 to close at 12. The stock has a 52- week trading range of 9.5-27 and the company has 87.9 million shares issued.

Bard says the new results confirm the continuity of mineralization within the alaskite intrusive and footwall andesites. Moreover, pulling long, well-mineralized intercepts from the current boundary of the zone indicates good potential for finding continued high-grade mineralization downdip. Mineralization occurs as molybdenite, which was moderately to strongly visible in the quartz stock-work alaskite intrusive in core from both holes.

Other good results from the Alaskite zone at Lone Pine include 730 metres of 0.1% moly in hole 28, 520 metres grading 0.11% moly in hole 29, and 174 metres of 0.11% moly in hole 32.

Just over 1 km north of the Alaskite zone is the Quartz-Breccia zone, where drills have returned gold mineralization along with molybdenite. The company punched four holes into the Quartz-Breccia zone this year.

Hole 1 cut 240 metres grading 0.06% molybdenum from 185 metres depth, including 42 metres of 0.1% moly. Hole 2 cut 128 metres of 0.04% molybdenum, including 22 metres of 0.09% moly, as well as an 8-metre intercept grading 2.02 grams gold per tonne. Hole 3 returned 2 metres of 5.4 grams gold from 227 metres down-hole, 2 metres grading 5.28 grams gold from 281 metres, and then 124 metres of 0.06% moly from 295 metres. And hole 4 cut 2 metres grading 5.7 grams gold from 377 metres, followed by 40 metres of 0.04% moly from 455 metres.

Though the name may evoke isolation, the Lone Pine property is well located in terms of infrastructure. Highway 16 runs through the project, as does a natural gas pipeline. The property also hosts a major hydropower transmission line and transformer substation and is only 15 km away from the CN rail line in Houston.

Bard recently submitted representative core from Lone Pine for metallurgical testing. Test work will focus on petrography, bond mill work index, and flotation testing studies.

Bard started work at Lone Pine in late 2006 and is earning a 100% interest in the property from two private vendors.
