Bard Ventures awaits moly resource

As Bard Ventures (CBS-V) awaits a resource estimate for its Lone Pine molybdenum project 15 km northwest of Houston, BC, the company has received initial metallurgical testing results.

Bard tested 50 kg of quartered NQ2 size core assaying 0.06% molybdenum and 0.034% copper from the Alaskite zone of the Lone Pine property.

The company says that rougher flotation tests produced molybdenum recoveries of 90% or greater to the rougher concentrate. It also reports that the open circuit batch cleaner tests produced concentrate grades as high as 43% molybdenum.

The tests showed that the sulphide minerals in the ore are pyrite/pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite and molybdenite in that order of abundance.

Bard drilled nearly 19,000 metres on the property over 2008; about 16,000 metres was on the Alaskite zone, 2,500 metres at the Quartz Breccia zone and about 500 metres on the Granby zone.

The resource estimate is expected sometime in the first quarter of this year.

Highlights from last year’s drilling in the Alaskite zone include a 730-metre intercept grading 0.1% molybdenum including 130-metres grading 0.2% moly and 24 metres grading 0.3% moly.

Drilling in the Quartz Breccia zone returned a 240-metre intercept grading 0.06% moly including 42 metres grading 0.1% moly. There was also gold mineralization in the Quartz Breccia zone including 2 metres grading 5.7 grams gold per tonne.
