BASE METALS — Fairfield options Yukon properties

A staking program by Fairfield Minerals (FFD-T) has resulted in the acquisition of two properties comprising 130 claims in the Wolf Lake and Teslin areas of the southern Yukon.

The land package is within a belt of volcanic and sedimentary rocks intruded by Mesozoic granitic rocks. Some 100 km to the northeast, a similar but less metamorphosed sequence of rocks hosts a number of massive sulphide deposits, including Cominco’s Kudz Ze Kayah project.

This year’s field program will include geologic mapping, prospecting, geochemical and geophysical surveys and, if warranted, drilling.
