With results from four drill holes in hand, Nebex Resources (NBX-A) has confirmed the presence of massive sulphides at its Mirdita concession in northern Albania.
The drilling shows that the mineralized zone trends towards an area of previously known mineralization (400 metres to the north), where another round of drilling is under way.
A previous program at the copper-rich massive sulphide zone intersected 11 metres of 8.8% copper and 1.3% zinc, plus 2.3 grams gold and 21 grams silver per tonne.
One of the holes from the current program encountered two massive sulphide horizons. The upper zone averaged 1.6% copper, 7.9% zinc, 1.9 grams gold and 35 grams silver over 2 metres. The second zone (2.6 metres below the first) was found to have a 3-metre thickness of 1.8% copper, 1.1% zinc, 1.4 grams gold and 3 grams silver.
An underlying stringer zone returned a 1-metre intersection of 3% copper, 9.3% zinc, 3.8 grams gold and 329 grams silver.
A second hole returned 16% copper, 8.3% zinc, 5.9 grams gold and 80 grams silver in a narrow, 70-cm intersection. The underlying stringer zone had a 4-metre interval of 2.3% copper.
Nebex has engaged the consulting firm of Watts, Griffis & McOuat to carry out a due diligence audit of 11 copper-zinc-gold deposits, as required under the terms of its agreement with the Albanian government.
The junior has eight Canadian geologists and 25 Albanian technicians working to outline targets at its various concessions in the country.
