BGR increases net asset value

Year-end results for 1993 were reported by BGR Precious Metals (TSE), a closed-end investment firm specializing in precious metals investments.

BGR had an increase in net assets to $93.5 million for the year ending Jan. 31, 1994, from $47.5 million for the previous year. This translates into a 103% increase in the net asset value per share to $16.68 from $8.81. The increase in net assets was composed of a $37.6 million appreciation in the market value of the portfolio and earnings on the portfolio of $9.9 million. Earnings per share rose to $1.76 for 1993, compared with 35 cents for the previous year.
