Birim extends land holdings

The land holdings of Birim Goldfields (CDN), along the Ashanti gold belt in Ghana, have been extended.

The junior has been granted an additional 30 sq. km north of the Dunkwa property.

The new acquisition increases Birim’s position to 45 km of strike length which, in addition to representing 90% of the ground between the Ashanti and Bogosu mines, includes a fifth mineralized zone known as the Chirbra prospect. Field work will include ground follow-up of the targets outlined from previous work and from a recent geophysical survey.

In the same country, Nevsun Resources (VSE) has begun a 7,000-ft. drill program at its 90% owned Kubi concession adjacent to and south of the Ashanti mine. The 44-sq.-km concession was drilled previously by BHP of Australia.
