Bishop Resources, soon to be trading on the Montreal Exchange’s unlisted market, has moved a small, sluice-box-style “concentrator” onto its Guadalupe gold property in Mexico.
The aim is to test the process at about 240 tonnes per day. If successful, it could generate cash flow.
The mining will be done on high-grade zones identified by 50-lb. samples taken earlier. A larger, 500-lb. sample from the Main Showing assayed 0.62 oz. per tonne, Bishop reports.
Company spokesman Merv Webb said Bishop hopes to prove up a heap-leach operation on the 600-hectare property, 160 km. east-southeast of Hermosillo, the capital of Sonora state.
A 3.1-km. gravel road connects the site to a major 2-lane paved highway. The year-round Yacqui River flows three kilometres to the east. A power line is only three kilometres away.
Panning at both the Main and East showings has yielded visible gold, the company says.
Bishop has $300,000-$400,000 in the till, which is earmarked for percussion drilling this fall.
