BMR Gold drilling California property

The 2,000-acre property is in San Bernardino Cty., about 120 miles south of Las Vegas. It hosts some 120,000 tons of known reserves grading 0.14 oz gold per ton. Past production came from two open pits along a 1,000-ft-long structure.

BMR has been exploring the former open pit property with the objective of outlining new high- grade gold reserves in various target zones.

To date, about 18,000 ft of drilling has been completed by BMR with a range of high- and low-grade results. Among the better assay results recently reported from the high-grade gold zone are 85 ft grading 0.26 oz gold per ton, 80 ft grading 0.42 oz and 80 ft grading 0.25 oz. Those intersections were obtained at depths above 300 ft. Several lower grade intervals including 80 ft of 0.05 oz and 70 ft of 0.07 oz were also reported.

BMR says the results compiled to date indicate a zone averaging about 0.15 oz along a strike length of 600 ft, but the width of the zone was not specified. The mineralization occurs in highly oxidized rocks and would be amenable to open pit mining methods, since much of the material occurs at depths of 100-300 ft.

Drilling carried out between the two previously mined open pits failed to establish additional reserves, so the company is focusing on extensions and other geological targets along a 12,000-ft strike length.
