Taywin Resources has stripped and trenched a bonanza gold and silver discovery on Vancouver Island. Further exploration is planned including percussion and diamond drilling, says J. Donald Graham, president.
Sampling of the electrum vein returned some impressive values including 14.6 ft of 4.9 oz gold and 246 oz silver; 10.5 ft of 0.75 oz gold and 47 oz silver; 23 ft grading 0.21 oz gold and 22 oz silver and 13.5 ft of 0.34 oz gold and 13 oz silver.
Work to date suggests the possibility of an epithermal-style gold and silver mine similar to those in Nevada’s Comstock area and the Japanese Hishikari deposit. But the company also points out there is some bulk tonnage potential as well.
The proposed drill program will test the structure along strike and down dip and will probably commence early in the new year, he says. Taywin is operator and can earn a 50% working interest from BP Minerals for $375,000 in exploration expenditures.
