Bulk leach tests at Amir/Glamis Idaho bets

Bulk leach tests are scheduled for the Buffalo Gulch and Friday properties, both located in Idaho Cty., Idaho, says Amir Mines vice- president Clive T. Johnson.

Amir’s joint venture partner Glamis Gold has completed a series of 25-ft-centre drill holes over the proposed bulk test site on the north oxide gold zone at the Buffalo Gulch property. Results of the drill- ing have increased the grade at the bulk test site to 0.043 oz per ton gold. The zone is flat-lying and on surface.

Mr Johnson says Glamis will begin pad construction and loading this fall once the necessary permits have been received.

Glamis is also completing 100-ft spacing development drilling on the entire north oxide gold zone. Previous drilling has outlined drill- indicated reserves of 6 million tons grading 0.03 oz gold per ton including 3 million tons of 0.036 oz.

At the Friday and Deadwood properties, Amir is in joint venture with Glamis and Normine Resources.

Glamis has also completed drill- ing the proposed bulk test site on the Friday with the average grade of the bulk test ore at 0.046 oz gold per ton. A bulk leach test is scheduled this fall once Glamis has received the necessary permits.

Additional drilling has also been completed on the rest of the Friday property increasing the grade of the deposit. Calculated reserves are now 3 million tons of drill-indicated ore grading 0.040 oz gold per ton.

A program of 2,000 ft of reverse circulation drilling is scheduled to start shortly on the north Deadwood gold zone, located about 6 miles north of the Friday property. Surface geochemical and rock sampling to date has outlined a large anomalous gold zone over a strike length of 6,000 ft with a width of 400 to 1,000 ft.

Mr Johnson says this is the largest and most anomalous surface zone found to date on the companies’ 17-mile Idaho belt.
