Cambiex cuts gold in Utah

A 3,000-metre drill program on Exploration Cambiex’s (ME) Annie Laurie gold property in Utah has yielded promising results.

Five holes drilled in the Annie Laurie vein system returned the following values: 14.4 grams gold and 24 grams silver per tonne over 1.2 metres in hole CAL2; 1.1 grams gold and 41.1 grams silver over 7 metres in CAL3; and 3.5 grams gold and 34.3 grams silver across 2.3 metres in CAL5.

Two of the five holes, CAL2 and CAL4, also intersected a new vein in the hangingwall, yielding values of 0.23 grams gold over 3 metres and 10.4 grams gold over 3 metres, respectively.

The Northeaster vein, discovered last July, was also tested by drilling. Significant results include 3.4 grams gold and 12.7 grams silver over 4.6 metres in hole S3, and 21.9 grams gold and 161.1 grams silver over 1.2 metres in hole S7.

Drilling in 1995 will test the extensions of the known veins and explore other showings.

Cambiex can earn a 40% interest by spending US$665,000 on exploration by Dec. 31, 1996.
