Results from the Polo Sur copper property in northern Chile have been released by Cambiex Exploration (ME).
More than 20 trenches were excavated along a regional trend of copper mineralization.
The highest grade ran 0.29% copper across 35 metres, while the longest mineralized interval assayed 0.11% across 338 metres.
Many of the trenches also returned gold values, ranging from 0.2 to 0.6 grams per tonne. Cambiex, which is earning a 40% interest, will next perform 5,000 metres of reverse-circulation drilling.
The Polo Sur contains a geological reserve of more than 70 million tonnes averaging 0.68% copper.
Meanwhile at the regional Abancay project in Peru, in which Cambiex can earn a 15% interest, promising results were received from a work program on the Capacmarca property.
Gold and copper mineralization was identified over a distance of more than 5 km. Thirty-two rock chip samples returned an average assay grade of 2.41% copper and 0.3 grams gold.
Trenching and geophysical surveys are planned as a prelude to drilling.
